This home is located in an extremely poor area where jobs are basically non-existent. Sanitation and potable water are a big problem and bottled or bagged water is a must. The building is owned by the director and is in need of substantial upgrades and an added room. There is an outhouse and a shower on the premesis. At some point in time, electricity, which is not considered a necessity would be a welcomed upgrade. The children are happy and well behaved but malnutritioned and lack the security of knowing there will be food each day and that they will go to bed in the same place. The children need proper nutrition, available medication, clothing, hygiene products, etc. The facility has numerous one time needs to be ready for the children being there full time. These needs include cooking stoves, pans, utensils, charcoal, water barrels and pitchers, wash basins, medicines, and numerous other necessary items. The repairs to make the facility safe and comfortable are also critical.
