PHILIPPINES

There are approximately 1.8 million abandoned and orphaned children in The Philippines whose families have fallen victims to extreme poverty, natural disasters and armed conflicts.  The vulnerable children often become victims themselves of violence, sex trafficking and recruitment into armed groups where they join or be killed. While the country does have a Social Welfare service, it is greatly understaffed, underfunded and under acknowledged, providing little to no actual services and resources for children beyond state run orphan homes with little care of the children’s wellbeing.  Your support for a child or home in our Philippines program will ensure that a child in need receives quality, loving, Christian care in a family style environment where they can thrive and have hope for their future.

AMAZING GRACE CHILDREN’S HOME

Orphan’s Lifeline has been supporting the Amazing Grace Home since 2005, three years after its inception in 2002.  Our support began when a connection of our organization, who had personal ties in The Philippines, brought the newly, fledgling program to our attention.  The home was started by a caring Christian woman who began taking in abandoned and neglected children in her home.  Not having enough food to go around, the children were all sickly and malnourished.  The Amazing Grace home is now a flourishing, loving, Christian, family style home where all children have plenty to eat, attend quality school and receive spiritual guidance and participation on a regular basis at the local church.  These children, who were once abused and neglected, now are happy and thriving with a real hope for their future.
