Is Orphan’s Lifeline governed by a religious body?
Our board of directors is comprised of Christians who attend Christian Church and Church of Christ. The organization is not governed by any particular body and is registered as a 501 c3, non-denominational religious charity.
Do you accept in-kind donations for the orphans?
While we appreciate the many offers to send in kind items like, clothes, toys and hygiene items to the orphans, we have found that the costs to ship the items oversees is best used to stimulate the local community economy in purchasing the same goods. We do however collect specific items each year that we ship to the Navajo Ministries before Christmas. These items are distributed to the very poor, elderly and vulnerable in remote areas. Contact Us for a list of items of need. (link to contact us)

Can I visit the orphan home I support?
We are happy to assist donors who have had a history and relationship with our ministry with travel guidance to their orphan home. It is important to keep in mind that travel to some countries is riskier for international travel than others. Orphan’s Lifeline does not coordinate vision trips, but are happy to coordinate with the orphan home Director about your intended visit with them.
What can I expect after I start donating?
Soon after your first gift, you can expect to receive a New Donor Packet that includes a Welcome Letter, Calendar and Ministry Brochure. If you are sponsoring a particular child, you will also receive that child’s personal profile. Each month you will receive our Voice of The Orphans Newsletter, which contains inspirational stories, success stories and special needs. You will also be invited to join our private, donor only Facebook groups that provide monthly updates on the home and children’s lives.
Can I communicate with the children?
Yes! We encourage meaningful correspondence with the child/ren you support. If you sponsor a whole home your letter will be read to all of the children. If you sponsor a particular child, the child is encouraged to share your letter with all of the children as well. You can also provide a gift for a Special Occasion, like Birthday. The gift will be shared with all children, such as cake, soda and balloons or soccer balls and jump ropes for example.
Can I donate to honor or remember someone or set up a memorial page?
Yes! Simply note your gift in Honor or Remembrance of the person as well as name and address of who to send an acknowledgement too. Our Donor Relations Manager will send a card sharing that you gave. We do keep the gift amount anonymous. To list Orphan’s Lifeline as a Memorial Donation recipient in honor of your loved one, share our Donate Link on your Memorial Page and ask that the giver note the loved ones name.
